among months, I am Margashirsha (December-January); among seasons I am flowery spring.
The month of Margazhi is dedicated to worship of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu through prayers. bhajans and kirthanas are sung in temples and homes as part of the worship. Margazhi is also the month for singing Andal’s Thiruppavai and Manickavasagar’s Thiruvembavai. This is also the Music season in Chennai, the Mecca of Carnatic music.
In keeping with the Tamil and Carnatic tradition RagaChitra’s talents present a virtual concert of Thiruppavai, Thiruvembavai and more on this auspicious month of Margazhi.
